The ABS reveals that Australia’s immigration numbers are falling, yet protests are growing as housing, traffic, and services come under pressure.

Here are the facts from the ABS:

Migrant arrivals dropped 10% to 667,000, compared with 739,000 in 2022–23.

This means fewer temporary visa holders are entering the country.

International students were the largest group, with 207,000 arrivals on study visas, down from 278,000.

The declining numbers highlight the stiffening of visa requirements and rising foreign competition for students.
