Jessie Wardlaw carried the team to an 11-point win, kicking four goals in the last quarter in an astonishing historical comeback, just two months after St Kilda’s men’s team pulled the same feat against Melbourne Demons.

The Saints turned around what was a sure-fire loss, down by 27 points at three-quarter-time, before Wardlaw bagged three consecutive goals in the final quarter.

While Wardlaw was the show-stopping player in the final stages of the game, she was brilliantly supported by Tyanna Smith and Ash Richards, who was unfortunately withdrawn from the game mid-way due to an ankle injury.

This surprise victory puts the Saints in the top eight, and Adelaide has officially missed the AFLW finals, ending their season.
