The Last Stop: On Filipino Funerals and Pagpag is a personal audio documentary exploring pagpag by Seth Delfin. Pagpag is the Filipino ritual of making one final stop before going home after a funeral. For older generations, it remains an essential act of protection and respect. For many younger Filipinos, it has become something closer to superstition: a habit performed out of obligation, convenience, or simply because “that’s what we’ve always done.” Through conversations with Filipinos across generations, alongside insight from a historian of Filipino culture, this documentary traces how pagpag has shifted in meaning over time. It asks what the ritual represents today, why it persists even as belief fades, and what it reveals about how Filipinos navigate grief, memory, and the unseen.

This documentary was produced for a Masters unit in Advanced Audio and Broadcasting Practice.
